Karimnagar sees outpouring of support for Har Ghar Tiranga programme

 

KARIMNAGAR: With Independence Day drawing near, the district is witnessing an enthusiastic response to the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations being held by the Centre. The Har Ghar Tiranga programme, in particular, has been well received by the public, with national flags flying off the shelves across the city.

Almost every day in the past week, some organisation or the other has been organising a rally with the Tricolour in Karimnagar town, with people of all ages taking part. They released tricolour balloons into the air.


On Saturday (August 13), the students of various educational institutions including schools, degree colleges, NSS and NCC volunteers, various department officials such as medical and health, Anganwadi’s, women self-help groups and others participated in a massive freedom rally from Ambedkar stadium to the Tower circle. All along the rally, the participants raised the slogans of ‘Bharath maata ki jai”, Jai jawan jai kisan, Vandemataram etc. The students also carried a huge flag measuring around 100 feet in the rally.

Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana flagged off the rally and participated along with Additional Collectors Garima Agarwal, GV Shyam Prasad Lal, Mayor Y Sunil Rao, DWO V Padmavathi and others. At the tower circle, all the participants sang the national anthem.
