Karimnagar MP urges Union Minister for sanction of floating solar power plants at LMD and MMD reservoirs

KARIMNAGAR: BJP state president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has urged the Union government to take up the floating solar power plant on the sprawling waters of the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) and Mid Manair Dam reservoirs in the integrated Karimnagar district.

Mr Sanjay Kumar met Union Minister for Power Raj Kumar Singh in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum in this regard on Wednesday. In the memorandum, the Karimnagar MP said that the installation of a floating solar power plant would solve the power problem by generating the power at cheaper rates and checking environmental pollution. Besides, the floating solar power panels would also reduce evaporation of the water in the reservoir, he stated.

Appealing to the Union Minister to sanction the floating solar power plants on the reservoirs of LMD and MMD in the integrated Karimnagar district falling under his parliament constituency, Mr Sanjay said that the floating solar power plant would reduce check pollution and conservation of natural fossil fuel in power generation through thermal power projects.
