Karimnagar DCCB centenary celebrations begins with employees’ sports meet

KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank has launched its centenary celebrations by organizing sports meet for the employees of the bank at the Ambedkar stadium and Karimnagar club in Karimnagar town on Saturday.

The two-day sports meet was formally inaugurated by DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao. As part of the sports meet, a cricket tournament was organized between the employees of various bank branches. The five teams were formed with the employees of Karimnagar district, Rajanna-Sircilla, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli districts.
The first match of the tournament was held between Karimnagar and Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli districts. The CEO flipped the coin for the toss of the match. He also batted for some time as an inaugural of the tournament. General managers B Sridhar and Md Riazuddin, union leader Hanumantha Rao and others were also present.
The final match would be held on Sunday. The winners would be presented with a trophy.
Similarly, the sports were also being organized by the women employees’ at the Karimnagar club. The shuttle badminton, tennikoit and other games were organized for the women employees. The bank employees participated in the events with lots of enthusiasm and sportive spirit.
On the other hand, the DCCB had also decided to organize rural sports among the youth of the integrated Karimnagar district as part of the centenary celebrations. The bank had decided to conduct kabbadi, volley-ball, kho-kho and chess games.
The centenary celebrations would be held on a grand-scale from November 14 to 20 by organizing various programmes as part of the cooperative week celebrations.
