Karimnagar DCC Bank draws up plans for centenary celebrations

KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) established in the year 1921 and one of the oldest banks in the integrated Karimnagar district has drawn up plans for centenary celebrations on a grand scale during the cooperative week celebrations from November 14 to 20, 2021.

Disclosing this at the DCCB branch managers meeting organised at the district headquarters branch in Karimnagar town on Monday, Karimnagar DCCB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao, who is also chairman for TSCAB and NAFSCOB, said that they had chalked out a series of programmes to mark the centenary celebrations by organising week-long programmes including the conduct of rural sports, essay writing competitions for students, organising financial literacy programmes to educate the people about the importance of banking, bringing youth into the cooperative sector banking sector etc.
He also said that they were also planning to use the local traditional folk media to educate the people about the centenary celebrations of the bank and the importance of banking with DCCB for higher returns for their deposits and loans for all sectors. They were also planning some corporate social responsibility programmes also.
Giving details about the performance of the DCCB, he said that the bank was having a share capital of Rs 9 lakhs in the year 1959 and it was Rs 117.73 crore. The deposits had increased from Rs 7 lakhs in 1959 to Rs 2,000 crore this year. The loaning of the bank increased from Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 2,000 crore. The bank staff number increased from 40 personnel in 1959 to 484 currently. The bank branch business was increased from Rs 11 lakhs in 1959 to Rs 59 crore per bank now, he added.
Interacting with the branch managers, he instructed them to rededicate themselves for the further progress of the bank by winning over the confidence of the customers. Stating that the Karimnagar DCCB was a brand in the Telangana state, he appealed to the bank employees to own up and strive for providing better services to the customers and win over new customers.
He also informed the branch managers to conduct weekly review meetings at the respective branches by involving all sections of the bank for increasing the business and providing better services to the customers. He also reviewed the performance of various banks in doing business such as raising deposits and loaning activities. CEO N Satyanarayana Rao, General managers B Sridhar and Md Riazuddin and DGM Rohini and others were also present.
