Karimnagar cartoonist wins national award

KARIMNAGAR: The local cartoonist Tuniki Bhoopathi has won the second prize for his cartoon at the national level cartoon competitions conducted as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised by the Cartoon watch magazine in association with the Union government and the Chatisgarh state culture department.

At the national level cartoon competitions, Bhoopathi’s cartoons secured second prize and won a cash prize of Rs 3,500, memento and a citation in a virtual mode. The results were announced on Saturday night. Mr Bhoopathi had earlier won a special prize for his caricature on former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao organised by the Telangana language and cultural department.
