Kaleshwaram project package-9 Malkapet reservoir named after veteran leader Ch Rajeshwar Rao
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 30, 2023: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced the decision to name the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project package-9 (Malkapet reservoir) after senior Communist leader and freedom fighter Chennamaneni Rajeshwar Rao on the occasion of his centenary birth anniversary celebrations.
The Centenary birth anniversary celebrations of Mr Rajeshwar Rao would be celebrated on August 31. The KLIP pakage-9 has become the source of irrigation for Sircilla and Vemulawada assembly segments. The Malkapet reservoir and its canal system falling between Mid Manair and Upper Manair projects are part of Package 9 of the KLIP that is named after the leader.
Recalling the services of Rajeshwara Rao, the Chief Minister said the first generation politician had strived relentlessly for the cause of the people of the State. He had fought many a battle for the sake of the lift irrigation scheme to the quench the thirst of the people in the region.
