JITS celebrates Women’s day

KARIMNAGAR:  The International women’s day celebrated at Jyothismathi institute of technology and sciences (JITS) in Karimnagar town on Tuesday.

On this occasion, the women faculty members and girls participated in the cutting of cake and distribution of sweets and sharing the joy.  JITS principal Dr K Srinivas Rao had formally launched the Centre for Digital innovation by releasing the poster and videos. He also felicitated the girls cricket team which had won prizes. The MBA first year student was given merit scholarship of Rs 10,000 and  prize to another student who excelled in elocution competitions.

Womanhood should be respected at all times, not just on Women’s day, the women faculty members said. Days come and go. There are days for fathers, mothers, children and other sections of society. We celebrate them and forget about them. But we all need to understand the spirit behind Women’s day and celebrate it at all times, they maintained.

Coordinators Dr Neelima and Dr Majula, HoD Prasanna Latha, faculty Dr Sujatha and others were also present.
