KARIMNAGAR: The two-day integrated Karimnagar district shuttle badminton championship conducted by the Jyotishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS) as part of its silver jubilee celebrations concluded at Ambedkar indoor stadium in Karimnagar town on Sunday (September 25, 2022).
More than 200 players from the old Karimnagar district participated in the tournament. In the boys’ singles category, Manideep won the title and Vinod emerged as runner-up. In the girls singles category, Baghyasri won the title and Seema runner up. In the men’s open category, Manideep and Nimith won the title and Chary and Jagan as runners-up.
In the 35 years category, Chary and Raju emerged victorious and Kumar and Raju runners up. In the 45 years category, Siri Ravi and Jagan emerged victorious and Manohar Rao and R Venkateshwar Rao as runners-up.
State shuttle badminton association vice president Govind Rao participated as chief guest and distributed prizes and trophies to the winners. The JITS has distributed cash prizes worth Rs 50,000 and several trophies to the winners and runners-up.
JITS chairman J Sagar Rao congratulated the coordinators for the successful conduct of the badminton championship. Coordinators R Venkateshwar Rao, Vishwaprakash Babu and Dava Srinivas, honourary guest Kankati Kankaiah, senior shuttler Siri Ravi and others were also present.
