Heritage structures should be protected, says Collector Sikta Patnaik

ADILABAD: Collector Sikta Patnaik has stressed the need to conserve and protect the ancient heritage structures to promote tourism in the district.
The Collector visited the ancient Vaiduryapuram fort in Vaduru village of Neredigonda mandal on Friday. On this occasion, she inspected the Palle pakruthi vanams planted on the premises. Instructing the revenue officials to take up barricading of the fort lands to protect from encroachments, she informed the officials to take up fencing of the pakruthi vanams to protect from the grazing by the animals.
She directed the officials to take up the plantation of saplings which would provide revenues to the villages. Stressing on the beautification of the fort with the plantation, she instructed the officials to take all measures for the smooth conduct of Dasara festivities at the ancient fort such as laying of roads etc.
On this occasion, the Collector along with Additional Collector Rizwan Basha Sheik had planted a sapling on the premises. DRDO Kishan, Tahsildar Sridevi, MPDO Abdul Samad, sarpanch Gadhe Samatha, MPP Rathode Srujan, Boath market committee chairman R Bojanna and others were also present.
