Har Ghar Tiranga: Postal dept launch delivery of national flags to residents in Karimnagar

The postal department sold 4,000 flags so far and they set a target to sell 15,000 flags

 

KARIMNAGAR: As the country is preparing to celebrate its Diamond jubilee celebrations of Independence day, to assist individuals in connecting to the Indian national flag, the Indian postal department is providing the residents with the opportunity to purchase the National flag for Rs 25 per flag.

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the postal department has launched the delivery of the national flag at the doorstep of the residents in the integrated Karimnagar district. The national flag can be booked online and offline by visiting the post offices for the purchase of tricolour.

The Karimnagar postal divisional staff had started delivery of the national flags to the residents at their doorstep from Saturday (August 6) onwards. So far, the postal department had sold 4,000 flags in the district.

Karimnagar Divisional postal superintendent Y Venkateshwarlu said that they had set a target of selling 15,000 flags in the old Karimnagar district. Already, we sold 4,000 flags and we are confident of crossing the target with ease, he stated.

The postal department officials were planning to organise awareness rallies in Karimnagar Sircilla and Jagtial districts from (August 8) Monday onwards to educate people to utilise the opportunity of purchasing national flags at post offices. The employees of the head post office took out a rally at Tower circle in Karimnagar on Saturday. Assistant superintendent of posts Sunil, postmaster Fazal Rahman, IPOs Chandramohan, Raju and others were also present.
