ICSI organises awareness meeting on opportunities in CS for the benefit government women’s degree college students

KARIMNAGAR: In order to create awareness among the students from rural and semi-urban areas about the Company Secretaryship (CS) as a career option, the Commerce department of Government women’s degree and PG college in Karimnagar town in association with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) had organised an awareness meeting for the benefit of students in a virtual mode on Wednesday.
ICSI Hyderabad chapter chairman Navjyoth Puttaparthi said that the students from the rural and semi-urban areas know about the professional accounting courses but probably may not be aware of CS courses and the wonderful career opportunity. He said that the ICSI was working in that direction to create awareness about the importance of CS course and added that the students can learn this course in a distant learning mode through online study materials.
Stating that there was huge demand for CS professionals in the country, he encouraged the students, particularly from rural areas, to take it up as a career opportunity. He reminded that the Union government made it mandatory for every private company with a paid-up share of Rs 10 crore or more to have a whole-time Company Secretary with effect from April 1, 2020.
He also said that the CS was the best career opportunity for women as more number of women were entering into the profession when compared to men because then profession also provides them an opportunity to practice on their own. Incharge principal Dr Swetha and Commerce HoD Dr T Lavanya informed the students to utilise the opportunity and tap the opportunities as CS.
