Free cataract surgeries for 17 villagers of Nagaram village at Rekurthi eye hospital

PEDDAPALLI: Around 17 villagers suffering from cataract problems, which were detected during an eye camp conducted by the Lions club of Telangana eye care a fortnight ago, was shifted to the Lions Club of Karimnagar Rekurthi eye hospital in Karimnagar town on Friday for providing free cataract surgeries.

During an eye testing camp conducted in Nagaram village of Manthani mandal under the supervision of sarpanch Budida Mallesham, the doctors had identified 17 villagers mostly elderly persons suffering from cataracts and they needed surgeries. Accordingly, the sarpanch had made arrangements for transportation and free boarding and lodging at the hospital for the benefit of the villagers.
The cataract surgeries would be conducted on Saturday. They would be returned back to their villages with free transportation from Karimnagar. Lions club of Telangana eye care president Pudari Datta Goud, Ranjith, Aravind and Anil had participated in the shifting of the patients to Rekurthi eye hospital.
