FPOs told to reduce farm cost and increase income

KARIMNAGAR: NABARD Farm sector Development department AGM Tapan Kumar Sahoo has stressed on the need to reduce the farm cost expenditure and enhance the farmers’ earnings by adding value to the farm produce.
Mr Sahoo visited the Sundagiri Farmers Producer Company (FPO) in Chigurumamidi mandal on Friday and participated in the Board of directors meeting. On this occasion, he informed the farmers to diversify the crop pattern to reap riches. He said that the farmers were showing more interest to form FPOs for collective growth.
NABARD Karimnagar cluster DDM P Ananth said that the government had initiated the formation of FPOs only to reduce the role of middlemen. He informed the farmers to increase productivity by increasing more members in the FPO. Jana Vikas rural development society secretary P Sampath Kumar, FPO directors P Raju, S Raju and others were also present.
