Festive spirit prevailed in Huzurabad, Collector flags off special buses to Dalit bandhu meeting

KARIMNAGAR: The festive spirit prevailed in the Huzurabad town with the arrival of hordes of dalits from various parts of the Huzurabad assembly segment to pay tributes to Father of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar for the implementation of the ambitious Dalit bandhu scheme by the state government.
Several hundreds of dalits have arrived from various villages and organised a rally amid drum beats with enthusiasm to pay floral tributes to the statue of Ambedkar in Huzurabad town before proceeding to Hyderabad to participate in an awareness programme on Dalit bandhu scheme which would be chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi bhavan on Monday.
Collector RV Karnan, SC Corporation chairman Banda Srinivas, Additional Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal, RDO Ravinder Reddy, other district officials and several dalit leaders garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid floral tributes. Later, the Collector flagged off the special buses with the dalit representatives of the Huzurabad assembly segment to the Pragathi bhavan in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the Dalit bandhu was a very ambitious programme for the upliftment and economic empowerment of the dalits. He said that a total of 427 participants from various villages along with 15 resource persons were on their way to Hyderabad in 15 special buses. He said that they made all arrangements for the participants attending the awareness meeting in Hyderabad with the deployment of district officials.
