Farmers woes unending in CM’s adopted village, allege former MP

KARIMNAGAR: Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has launched a scathing attack against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for failing to take up procurement of the paddy produce from the farmers.
“There is no procurement of paddy from the farmers from the Chief Minister’s adopted village of Chinna Mulkanoor village of Chigurumamidi mandal”, he said and flayed the government for weighing additional 2 kilograms for every 40 kgs paddy bag and causing huge loss to the farmers.
Mr Prabhakar visited the village on Thursday and interacted with the farmers about the procurement of the farm produce by visiting the fields. He said that the farmers were forced the loss of 2 kilograms for every 40 kgs paddy bag as they were worried lot over the unseasonal rains and possible damage to the crop.
The rice millers were again deducting three quintals per tractor load of paddy after reaching the mill, he charged. Ridiculing Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar’s claim that they would seize the rice mill if they collect additional one kg as wastage from the farmers, he dared the Minister to visit the fields and promised to show the collection of additional weight from the farmers.
Reacting to Husnabad legislator V Satish Babu statement that Additional Collector was not lifting his phone to discuss on the paddy procurement, he demanded the legislator to resign to his post when the concerned officer does not lift his phone call to redress the grievances of the farmers.
“On the other hand, Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar neglecting the plight of the farmers and other sections is visiting Bhagyalaxmi temple or he visits Vemulawada temple town and demands renaming of Fazulnagar as Sriramnagar”, he alleged. He demanded the MP to resolve the farmers’ paddy procurement issue before the advent rains.
