Etala Rajender files nomination from Huzurabad assembly segment for his eighth time contest
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 09, 2023: Former Minister and BJP MLA Etala Rajender filed his nomination papers from Huzurabad assembly segment as BJP candidate in Huzurabad town on Thursday with much pomp and gaiety, marking his eighth time contesting from the constituency. Union Minister of State Jitender Singh was also present during the filing of nominations.
A staunch Telangana protagonist joined the advent of TRS in 2001 and first contested from Kamalapur assembly segment in 2004 and won with a thumping majority by defeating stalwart TDP leader Muddasani Damodar Reddy. Again he had won in the by-elections in the year 2008 defeating TDP candidate Damodar Reddy. Later, the Kamalakar assembly segment was dissolved and merged with Huzurabad segment.
Mr Rajender was winning continuously from the Huzurabad assembly since its inception in 2009, 2010 by-elections, 2014 elections, 2018 elections and 2021 by-elections. In this elections, he contesting for the eighth consecutive time from the segment. He was accorded a rousing welcome by the party rank and file during the filing of nominations. He took out a procession from RDO office to Ambedkar cross roads after filing his nomination papers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajender asked whether anyone of them know who is his son and daughter. “I am working for the cause of society and not for the family”, he pointed out. Stating that he was contesting from Gajwel assembly segment against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said that he was fighting against the feudalism of KCR and his family. We don’t want the culture of leaving of our footwear before the ‘Gaddi’ (forts) of the so-called Doras to seek an appointment to discuss the public issues, he stated.
