KARIMNAGAR: Former Minister and BJP contestant from Huzurabad by-elections Etala Rajender has alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has watered down the much-expected socially-equitable (samajika) Telangana state and let down dalits on all fronts by failing to fulfil the promises made.

“Mr Chandrashekhar Rao promised to make Dalit as the Chief Minister of the Telangana state and if failed to do so he would axe his head. He has given deputy Chief Minister post to two persons and later removed them without any reason”, he said and charged that Mr Rao was anti-dalit and failed to fulfil the promise of providing three acres of land to the dalits and construction of double bedroom houses.

Only 0.2 per cent populated community was enjoying the Chief Minister and several other minister posts, whereas 17 per cent of the Dalits have only one post in the Telangana state cabinet, he stated.

Participating in various road shows in Veenavanka mandal as part of electioneering on Wednesday, Mr Rajender launched a scathing attack against the Chief Minister for neglecting the plight of dalits and youth. Alleging that the CM was anti-dalit, he said that the Chief Minister’s office had not appointed any dalit, BC or a minority officer. After my hue and cry, the government had appointed Rahul Bojja in the CMO, he said and added that Akunuri Murali had resigned to his IAS post because of his humiliation by the government.

Stating that the Congress party had given Telangana state, he said that the Union government had given Telangana state because of supreme sacrifices by over 1200 youth and the agitations by all sections of society.  He charged that Mr Chandrashekhar Rao was the only Chief Minister in the country who would not meet the people or the Ministers. The Pragathi bhavan gates are always closed for the ministers, he stated.

“I asked that the Rythu bandhu should be implemented to only the poor farmers”, he said. Stating that his wife asked him to sell away his properties and fight against the autocratic rule of the Chief Minister, he said that he was ready to sacrifice his life for the cause of people and added that he would be touring the entire Telangana state and expose the misdeeds of Mr KCR after October 30, the completion of by-elections.
