Engineers’ day celebrated by Lions club

KARIMNAGAR: The Engineers day was celebrated in connection with the 160th birth anniversary of the world-famous engineer and Bharath Ratna recipient Mokshagundam Visveshwaraya here on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the Satavahana Lions club Karimnagar had felicitated eminent engineers including retired SRSP SE Jiyauddin, DE agriculture department E Kumaraswamy and civil engineer Kola Anna Reddy at Alphores educational institutions in Karimnagar town. Lions club members B Madhusudhan Reddy, Aravind Babu S Manohara Chary, E Ramesh, D Tirupathi Reddy, Satyanarayana Rao, Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy and others were also present.
On this occasion, the speakers remembered the engineering skills of Visveshwaraya for the construction of dams and creating irrigation facilities for the farming community and also protecting the people from ravaging floods.
