Eminent educationist Ayodhya Rama Rao statue to be unveiled

Ayodhya Rama Rao played crucial role in promotion of education in Karimnagar

 

KARIMNAGAR: The stage is all set for the unveiling of the statue of eminent educationist and founder of Vani Nikethan Vidya Samithi Cheeti Ayodhya Rama Rao on the occasion of his 84th birth anniversary on the premises of Vani Nikethan degree and PG college in Karimnagar town on Wednesday.

An alumnus of the educational institution viz Minister for Finance T Harish Rao and Minister for BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar, Medak MLA M Padma Devender Reddy, TS Planning board vice chairman B Vinod Kumar, Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Satavahana University Vice-Chancellor S Mallesham and others would participate in the unveiling of the statue of Mr Ayodhya Rama Rao.

Mr Ayodhya Rama Rao played a crucial role in the promotion of education in the integrated Karimnagar district. He was involved in the education field for over five decades and promoted education from primary to higher education by setting up Vani Nikethan educational institutions. Incidentally, he was also a teacher and moulded the students for over four decades.

He was the founder member of the Rotary Club of Karimnagar, chairman and President of Andalu Goshti, a spiritual organisation founded by his holiness Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Sreemannarayana Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, he was president of Karimnagar district private school management association from 1972 to 1987.

He worked as president of Telangana private schools managements association from 1987 to 1997, president of Karimnagar district private junior colleges management association from 1995 to 2001, president Karimnagar district private degree colleges management association from 2000 to 2010. He was also a member executive council of Kakatiya University for about five and half years from 2004 to 2010.

He had transformed education in the private sector and several of his disciplines and teaching faculty members had become eminent personalities in various walks of life. Several private educational institutions correspondents and others would also grace the function on Wednesday.
