Elders day celebrated in Adilabad

ADILABAD: Collector Sikta Patnaik has informed all the senior citizens, who crossed 60 years of age, to get inoculated and also play a responsible role in educating others to get vaccinated in the district.
Participating in the International day of older persons in Adilabad town on Friday, the Collector said that they examining the possibilities of involving senior citizens in the district level tribunal. Informing the district welfare officer to conduct interactive sessions with the senior citizens, she directed the RDOs to conduct thorough investigation into the petitions pertaining to the family disputes of neglect of senior citizens by the family members.
The Collector assured all legal assistance to the senior citizens. She also said that the senior citizens could also lodge their complaints through the help desk in the district for instant justice.
DMHO Dr Narender Rathode said that the medical department was ready to provide vaccines at the doorstep of senior citizens and informed them to call the control room for necessary assistance. He also appealed to the senior citizens to get vaccinated and protect them from the deadly virus. On this occasion, the Collector felicitated the senior citizens by presenting them with shawls and mementoes.
