EC’s cVigil app received 174 complaints of MCC violations in Karimnagar district
Two ballot units (BU) in Karimnagar and Huzurabad assembly segments
20 women managed polling stations, 20 model polling stations, four physically challenged managed PSs and four youth managed PSs
Total 1338 polling stations in 651 locations
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 18, 2023: The District Election authorities have received 174 complaints of Model Code of Conduct violations through cVigl app in the district till date. Among the 134 cases found to correct and registered two FIRs also.
Disclosing this to newsmen here on Saturday, District Election Officer and Collector Pamela Sathpathy informed the people to use the c-Vigil app to alert the election authorities for MCC violations in part of the district for instant response and action. She also appealed to the people to dial toll free number 1950 for lodging complaints against election code violations. She said that the integrated check-posts on the borders of the district have seized so far Rs 4 crore.
Following 27 contestants remaining in fray from Karimnagar assembly segment and 22 contestants from Huzurabad assembly segment, the election authorities have decided to use two ballot units (BU) in these segments polling stations. The district was having a record number of 10,59,215 electorate including 3,55,054 voters in Karimnagar assembly segment. The authorities have decided to set up 1338 polling stations in 651 locations in the district
As part of Thematic polling stations, the district election authorities have decided to set up 20 women managed polling stations, four physically challenged persons, 20 model polling stations and four youth managed polling stations in various parts of the district. They had supplied 12D (postal ballot) to the physically challenged persons with 40 per cent disability and 80 years and above to 1195 persons for home voting process. She said that the voters information slips have been generated and printed for the four assembly constituencies and the same distribution would be completed before November 25.
