JAGTIAL: The Dharmapuri Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS) has distributed green manure (Jeelugu, Janumu) seeds to the farmers on subsidy and also financial assistance worth Rs 13.80 lakhs for taking up open wells, borewells and laying of pipelines to take up farm activities.
At a programme organised at PACS in Dharmapuri temple town on Thursday, DCMS chairman Dr Allala Srikanth Reddy handed over the green manure seeds to the farmers. He said that the cultivation of green manure crops before taking up sowing operations would improve the soil fertility and help in good harvest of normal crops. He informed the farmers to avail the green manure seeds on subsidy by getting photo copies of Aadhar, pattadar passbook and bank account details.
Similarly, he had handed over financial assistance of Rs 13.80 lakhs for taking up wells and other agricultural developmental works to five farmers. He directed the farmers to avail the loans from PACS at lowest interest for agriculture and other purposes and repay them promptly. PACS vice chairman S Rajesham, director Gurrala Peddam Pocham, CEO A Rajesh and others were also present.
