KARIMNAGAR: Telangana Telugu Desam Party organising secretary Damera Satyam has alleged that the TRS has converted the Dalit bandhu programme into “political bandhu” by entrusting the Ministers and MLAs in the selection of beneficiaries in each assembly segment.
He reminded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had announced during the launch of Dalit bandhu scheme in Huzurabad segment that the scheme would be implement in true spirit for the empowerment of dalits and accordingly bought Collector RV Karnan to the district.
In contrary, the Collector was kept aside and the Ministers and MLAs were given the power to select the beneficiaries of the Dalit bandhu, he charged.
In a statement here today, Mr Satyam said that the implementation of Dalit bandhu scheme would be diluted with the entry of elected representatives in the selection of beneficiaries and it would emerge only sharing of ‘commissions’. He also alleged that the real beneficiaries would be denied of sanction of the scheme due to the role of politicians. This system of involving politicians would only benefit the ruling party leaders, he charged.
He demanded the government to involve the Collectors for the selection of the beneficiaries in a transparent manner by conducting grama sabhas in the villages. He said that the Dalit bandhu scheme funds would be shared by the TRS leaders instead of the real beneficiaries. He alleged that the TRS was again planning to deceive the dalits in the name of Dalit bandhu like it had done earlier by promising CM post, three acres of land etc.
