Conserve energy to lessen climate change, says Dharti Bachao NGO

WARANGAL: Mohammad Azam, a social activist and founder president of Dharti Bachao, an NGO, has stressed on the need for the conservation of energy to lessen the climate change.
The conservation of energy helps replacement of non-renewable resources with renewable energy, he said and added that the energy conservation is the most cost-effective solution to energy solutions.
Participating in an awareness programme on the occasion of National energy conservation on the premises of Kakatiya university on Tuesday, Mr Azam urged the people to preserve the natural resources by conserving the energy for the benefit of future generation.
Expressing concern over the threat to the environment in the name of development, he said that every human being should have right to access to free water, air and other natural resources. He stressed on the need for the plantation of saplings to protect Mother Nature from pollution and hailed the Telangana government’s ambitious Haritha haram programme to increase green cover in the state. NGO representatives Anil, Samba Shiva Rao, Prasad, Nikhil and others were also present.
