Congress MLC flays government for conducting decennial celebrations when it had forced the state progress in reverse
JAGTIAL, MAY 28, 2023: Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy has flayed the state government for announcing to conduct the decennial celebrations of Telangana state formation day on a grand scale by allocating Rs 105 crore.
In contrary, the Telangana state had progressed in reverse under the inefficient leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. The Telangana state which was having only Rs 50,000 crore during the formation of the new state in 2014 had risen to Rs 5.5 lakh crore due to inefficiency of the CM and burdened every individual with Rs 1.25 lakh debts, he stated.
In an informal chat with newsmen in Jagtial town on Sunday, the Congress MLC said that the government had taken up Mission Bhageeratha by making debts to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore to provide drinking water connections to each and every household, but it still remained a distant dream. Even the water supplied through Mission Bhageeratha taps was not consumed by the people and were solely relying on RO water plant cans, he stated.
He had cheated the people with the false promises of providing double bedroom houses, three acres land to Dalits and Dalit as CM of new state, Dalit bandhu to all beneficiaries, 12 per cent reservations to Muslims and filling up of 1.9 lakh government vacancies. He said that as part of AP States Reorganisation Act there was every possibility of securing power without any investments from NTPC by just making power purchase agreement. But, the state government had neglected the issue and flayed the Union government and betrayed the state in the generation of 2400 MWs of power, he charged.
Ridiculing the state government claims on Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, he said that the project had not provided additional ayacut. It was only filling the existing projects constructed by the Congress government. Alleging that the people were fed-up with the BRS government and its mismanagement, he exuded with confidence that the Congress party would attain power in the Telangana state in the ensuing elections.
