Congress MLC demands KCR to take action against corrupt BRS MLAs for resorting to corruption in Dalit bandhu scheme
JAGTIAL, APRIL 28, 2023: Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy has alleged that the ruling BRS legislators and Ministers were collecting Rs 2 to 3 lakhs from each beneficiary of the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao himself had stated that party legislators were indulging in corruption in the implementation of the flagship, Dalit bandhu scheme, he asked why the Chief Minister was not taking action against the corrupt politicians and shielding them.
On the other hand, the CM had insulted the Dalit community by sacking Deputy Chief Minister Tatikonda Rajaiah without any allegations. Alleging that the Chief Minister was diluting the Dalit bandhu scheme, he demanded the government prove its commitment to the welfare of Dalits by spending the funds allocated in the budget.
Talking to newsmen in Jagtial town on Friday, the Congress MLC reminded that the Congress government had created an SC sub-plan and allocated funds as per the population according to the Constitution of India. On the other hand, the BRS government had renamed the SC sub-plan as the SC development fund and cheated Dalits by not spending the budget.
Stating that the government allocated Rs 30,000 crore and promised Dalit bandhu scheme to 1500 beneficiaries in each assembly segment and allocated Rs 17,700 crore in the financial year 2022-23 budget, he alleged that the government had failed to spend the allocated budget and not sanctioned Dalit bandhu as promised in the entire state. He also alleged that the government failed to fulfil the promise of allocating Rs 3 lakh to beneficiaries for the construction of houses on their own land in spite of the allocation of Rs 12,000 crore in the 2022-23 budget.
He said that the government could construct a total of 5 lakh houses by spending Rs 10 lakhs for each house with the funds announced by the government in the budget. He alleged that the government was cheating dalits by not spending the funds allocated in the budget for the welfare of Dalits.
He charged that the government had resorted to TSPSC question paper leakages as part of their strategy to delay the recruitment process as the government does not have funds to pay their salaries regularly. DCC president Adluri Laxman Kumar, PCC member Giri Nagabushanam, PCC organising secretary Banda Shankar, SC cell district president Dara Ramesh Babu, Municipal floor leader K Durgaiah, party leaders K Srinivas, Chand Pasha, Radhakishan, B Shekhar and others were also present.
