Congress leaders stage protest dharna in front of LIC office in Karimnagar
KARIMNAGAR: Responding to the Congress party’s call for a nationwide protest against the drop in prices of Adani group shares in a scam involving common people’s money since LIC and SBI have invested in these companies, the Karimnagar District Congress committee leaders have staged a dharna in front of LIC senior divisional office in Karimnagar town on Monday (February 6, 2023).
The Congress activists led by DCC president Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, City Congress president Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, party leaders M Rohith Rao, Sravan Naik, Venna Rajamallaiah, K Ramchander, M Sujith Kumar and others participated in the dharna programme. They demanded an impartial investigation into the allegations made against the Adani group in the Hindenburg research report.
Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi government forced the LIC and SBI to invest in the Adani group, the Congress leaders alleged the BJP government jeopardise the hard-earned money of the people of India to profit from the crony friends of Narendra Modi. They said that the LIC had invested a total of Rs 36,474 crore in the Adani group.
