Conduct Ganesh chathurthi festivities in Covid-free environment: Collector Sikta Patnaik

ADILABAD:  With the state government according to permissions for the conduct of mass Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations in the Telangana state after a gap of one year, the Adilabad district administration had informed the organisers of various Ganesh mandaps to celebrate the festival in a Covid-19 free environment and take measures to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.

Accordingly, Collector Sikta Patnaik had organised a meeting with the district officials, organisers of Ganesh mandaps and peace committee members at the Collectorate in Adilabad town on Saturday evening. The Collector informed the organisers to take all measures to ensure that not a single Covid case was reported at the Ganesh mandaps. She also assured to take all measures suggested by the Ganesh mandaps such as repairing roads, lighting arrangements, sanitation etc at all the mandaps.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Chandra said that they had not allowed any DJ permissions during the Ganesh immersion processions in the district. Instructing the organisers to install the CCTV cameras at all the mandaps, he also informed the organisers to apply for online permission by logging

The SP also said that they would be organising the patrolling at all the Ganesh mandaps and police static police forces would be also deployed to avoid any untoward incident and regulate the traffic at the mandaps. He said that they would take up geo-tagging of all mandaps and keep 24×7 surveillance. He also appealed to the organisers to provide their volunteers at the mandap 24×7 and ensure that all adhere to Covid norms of wearing a facemask, use of sanitisers and maintaining social distancing.

Additional Collector Rizwan Basha Sheik said that they would introduce mobile vaccination vans to take up vaccination of all the people at the mandaps. He informed the organisers to ensure cent per cent sanitation and avoid the spread of seasonal diseases during this rainy season. Municipal Commissioner A Shailaja, DSP Venkateshwar Rao, DMHO Dr Narender and others were also present.
