Collector directs officials to gear up for reopening of schools

KARIMNAGAR: Collector RV Karnan directed all the educational institutions to prepare for the reopening of schools following the safety norms and strict Covid rules. All educational institutions including schools and Anganwadi centres would be reopened from September 1 onwards.

After the completion of a video conference with Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and minister for panchayat raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao and other officials on Tuesday, the Collector convened another meeting with the district officials in this backdrop and reviewed the prevailing situations in the government schools and hostels including KGBVs, model schools and residential schools.

Instructing the authorities to launch the sanitation works from Tuesday onwards and directed the concerned MEOs to inspect the works in all schools, hostels and residential schools etc, he said that the schools and hostels should be readied by August 30 with cent per cent sanitation. He also informed the officials to clean the water tanks and chlorination to check the breeding of mosquitoes.

He also instructed the MPDOs to collect the completion of sanitation works letters from the concerned schools’ headmasters. He said that the teachers should not force students to visit the schools and they should come only with the consent of their parents. The schools and hostels were also instructed the observe dry to eradicate the mosquitoes and check the outbreak of seasonal diseases. ZP chariperson K Vijaya, Municipal Commissioner Valluru Kranthi, Additional Collector (local bodies) Garema Agarwal, DEO Janardhan, DPO Veera Butchaiah and others were also present.
