CM brings to light old promise of providing 24×7 water supply in Karimnagar town after winning elections

KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 17, 2023: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has reiterated the old promise of providing 24×7 water supply to the people of Karimnagar town after getting elected to power in the Telangana state.

It may be recalled that in the year 2017 the TRS government had made a promise to provide 24×7 water supply in Karimnagar town from the year 2018 onwards because of availability of Lower Manair Dam reservoir on the outskirts of the town to implement the scheme. Ironically, it is over six years, still the promise remained a distant dream and no locality in the town is getting 24×7 water supply. However, the authorities have made several attempts to provide 24×7 water supply in some locality on experimental basis, but remained a distant dream.

Participating in the Praja Ashirvada sabhas in Choppadandi, Karimnagar, Jammikunta and Parkal towns on Friday, the Chief Minister claimed that the Telangana state was the only state in the country to provide tap connection to each and every household in the state. He alleged that the Congress government during its five decades regime had failed to provide tap connections and forced the people to struggle to fetch a pot of water. He also state that the BRS government had introduced the scheme of providing tap connection at Re 1 only.

He said that the Karimnagar Town secured the Smart City under the leadership of then Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar. He flayed the sitting Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar for not[i] even securing medical colleges and Navodaya schools. Minister for Civil Supplies and Karimnagar BRS party contestant Gangula Kamalakar, TS Planning Board vice chairman B Vinod Kumar, Mayor Y Sunil Rao and others were also present.
