ADILABAD: The Centenarians have emerged as role models in the tribal-dominated Adilabad district by taking the Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday.

In this tribal-dominated district where the tribals had lots of inhibitions on the Covid vaccine, a 102-year-old woman Wankedi Thanubhai from Thamsi-K village from Bheempur mandal and Sable Kamalabhai from Dadhiguda mandal have taken the jabs from the medical officials at their places of residence on Saturday.

On this occasion, Collector Sikta Patnaik had appreciated the centenarians for emerging as role models for taking the jabs. Taking them as inspiration, she called upon all sections of society who crossed 18 years of age to take the Covid vaccine from the ANMs and other medical officials conducting door to door surveys to ensure cent per cent vaccination in the district.

Appreciating the medical teams for motivating and vaccinating the people, she called upon the people to take a call to achieve cent per cent vaccination in another 20 days in the district and set a milestone to check the spread of the deadly virus.
