Celestial wedding of Lord Venkateshwara with Sri Bhudevi performed with religious fervour and gaiety
KARIMNAGAR: The celestial wedding of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy along with his consort Sri Bhudevi was performed with religious fervour and gaiety at Sri Venkateshwara Swamy devasthanam at market road in Karimnagar town on Monday (January 30, 2023).
As part of the annual Brahmotsavams, the celestial wedding of Lord Srinivas was performed with all traditions such as Visvaksena Aradhana, Ankurarpana, Pratisara Bandhana, Agnipratishta, Vastra Samarpana, Maha Sankalpam, Kanyadanam, Mangalya Dharana, Varanamayiram and concluded with Arti.
Devotees thronged to large numbers to witness the fete and the temple authorities had also made elaborate arrangements for the festivities by blocking the busy roads. Priests from Tirumala, Badrachalam, Yadadri, Kondagattu and Vemulawada and also the local priests participated in the Kalyanotsavams.
Minister for Civil Supplies and BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar along with his family members, Mayor Y Sunil Rao and his family members and others also witnessed the celestial wedding. On this occasion, the Minister secured 15,000 laddus from Tirumala and distributed the same to the devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that he said that he would be conducting the Brahmotsavams at Sri Venkateshwara Swamy as long as he was having strength. He said that he was only an ordinary human being and Lord Venkateshwara Swamy was running the show. He said that he was taking all measures to ensure that the people of Karimnagar district have darshan of Lord Srinivasa of TTD in Karimnagar town by constructing a TTD temple in a sprawling 10 acres of land. He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had also released Rs 20 crore for the construction of the temple.
Commissioner of Police L Subbarayudu also visited the temple and offered prayers and reviewed the security arrangements for the festivities.
