KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 20, 2023:  In a shocking development, BRS municipal corporator from the 49th division Kamaljith Kaur along with her husband and BRS leader Sohan Singh has lodged a complaint with the district election authorities alleging that the contestants from Karimnagar assembly segment were distributing money to the voters through women Self-help groups in Karimnagar town.

The Municipal corporator and BRS leader submitted a memorandum to Karimnagar RDO and returning officer Maheshwar in his chambers in Karimnagar town on Monday. They stated that the women SHG members have stated that the ruling party was distributing Rs 5,000 for each vote in Karimnagar and all divisions had secured the money. They said that the women SHGs were questioning them whether the money had reached their division or not.

Demanding stern action against the contestants for distributing money to lure the voters, they urged the Election commission to ensure smooth and fair elections without giving scope for money, liquor and other sops. They also charged that the contestants were luring the youth with liquor and money and also promising costly cellular phones to ensure victory in the elections.
