Bommala Koluvu, Telugu way of celebrating Dasara, organized with enthusiasm at NTPC

PEDDAPALLI: Bommala Koluvu, the festival of doll and figurine display, was celebrated during Dasara Navaratri festivities at NTPC-Ramagundam on Saturday night.

Organised by the Deepthi Mahila Samithi (DMS), the major attraction of the celebration was the thematic stalls and classical & semi-classical dance by children and ladies club members.
Speaking on the occasion, NTPC Ramagundam Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar appreciated the ladies club for its diversified activities for its members and children. He also lauded the efforts of the Ladies club in promoting local culture and arts & crafts besides actively participating in developmental activities.
Earlier, while introducing the dignitaries to various thematic stalls arranged for the occasion, Deepthi Mahila samithi President Usha Kumar highlighted the significance of the event and efforts taken by the Ladies club members to make it grand with spectacular visual appeal. Besides dolls and figurines, the stalls highlighting Sri Krishna Leela, Sri Jagannath Rathyatra Mahotsav, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, and many more mesmerized the visitors.
In adherence to Covid-19 protocols, the festival was celebrated in a restricted manner. While few attended the programme, many joined the celebration through virtual mode.
