HYDERABAD: The BJP Hyderabad unit leaders have set fire to an effigy belonging to State Cultural council chairman and Manakondur legislator Rasamayi Balakishan at Yousufguda in Hyderabad on Saturday for his alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP state president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
The Manakondur legislator during the dharna programme organised in Manakondur mandal headquarters in Karimnagar district on Friday flayed the Prime Minister and the BJP president with objectionable remarks. Irked over the remarks, the BJP leaders led by SC Morcha National secretary S Kumar, Lankala Deepak Reddy, Karate Kalyani and others set fire to an effigy belonging to the TRS legislator.
Condemning the remarks, the BJP leaders raised slogans against the TRS legislator and demanded unconditional apologies. Later, the police swung into action and arrested the protestors and shifted them to Banjara Hills police station. They demanded the TRS government to sack the Manakondur legislator for his illegal activities in the constituency and encroachment of government and dalits lands.
