KARIMNAGAR: The BJP state unit in general and Huzurabad assembly segment, in particular, has received a rude shock on Monday with senior party leader and former Minister E Peddi Reddy resigning to the party.
Former TDP leader Peddi Reddy joined the BJP with the sole motto of securing the party ticket and contest from the Huzurabad assembly segment. However, the party had inducted former Minister and TRS rebel Etala Rajender into the party against his wishes. Since Mr Rajender joined the BJP, Mr Peddi Reddy was sulking and distanced from the party activities.
Mr Peddi Reddy had avoided several party meetings and even distanced from attending the ‘Praja deevena’ padayatra launched by BJP candidate from Huzurabad assembly Etala Rajender even after state party president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the programme. The party sources said that Mr Peddi Reddy was planning to join the TRS and secure the party ticket and contest against Etala Rajender in the by-elections from Huzurabad assembly segment.
