KARIMNAGAR: BJP senior national leader P Sugunakar Rao has launched a scathing attack against TPCC president and MP Revanth Reddy for making false and baseless allegations against the BJP during his electioneering for the by-elections to the Huzurabad assembly segment.
Talking to newsmen in Karimnagar town on Monday, Mr Rao said that the BJP had never made any political alliances with the TRS. It was the Congress and TDP which forged alliances with TRS and contested elections together, he said and added that the TRS was part of the Congress government at the Centre and State after the 2004 elections by occupying several ministries, he stated.
Refuting the allegations that the TRS and BJP were the same and the TRS makes friendship with BJP at Centre and fights in Telangana state, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had only met the Union Ministers at Delhi for various funds and schemes as part of the Federal structure in the country and added that the Telangana CM had not met any of the BJP party functionaries during his visit to New Delhi.
Responding to a query on TPCC president supporting the Naxalites, he reminded that former Chief Ministers YS Rajashekhar Reddy and N Chandrababu Naidu had fought against the Naxalites for obstructing development in the state and suppressed their movement by resorting to various acts. However, the BJP has not done anything against the Naxalites as they had not attained power in the Andhra Pradesh state, he added.
Charging that the TPCC president was facing a mental disorder and making false allegations, he alleged that Mr Revanth Reddy was only a microphone leader and there was no credibility in his allegations. Reiterating that the BJP candidate Etala Rajender would win with a thumping majority in the by-elections from the Huzurabad assembly segment, he predicted the Congress party would be completely wiped out of the Telangana state after by-elections as its candidate would not even secure the deposit.
He charged that Mr Revanth Reddy formally associated with the ABVP had joined the TRS and later TDP and he does not have integrity and credibility. He reminded that Mr Reddy had accused AICC president Sonia Gandhi a devil when in TDP and now hailing her as Goddess after joining the Congress party. BJP district leaders P Saikrishna Reddy, Lingampalli Shankar, Kanneboina Odelu, Maruthi, Kishore and others were also present.
