Alphores students celebrate Bathukamma with pomp and gaiety
KARIMNAGAR: Ahead of the ensuing Bathukamma and Dasara festivities, the students of Alphores e-techno school in Kothapalli on the outskirts of Karimnagar town celebrated the Bathukamma celebrations amid pomp and gaiety on Tuesday (September 20, 2022).
The school was colourfully decorated for the festivities and the students and women teachers had arrived in their best attire. They designed colourful Bathukammas by arranging flowers in a conical shape. The students danced to the rhythmic beats of the Bathukamma songs and played ‘kolatam’. Later, the bathukammas were immersed (nimmajanam) in the waters.
Earlier, the celebrations were launched by the Alphores educational institutions by offering prayers to the Goddess Durga. The students donned the role of various goddesses to mark the celebrations of Navarathri worshipping various Goddesses during the nine-day festivities.
On this occasion, Mr Narender Reddy educated the students on the importance of celebrating Bathukamma and the significance of various flowers used for making Bathukamma. Explaining the Dasara festivities such as Ayudha puja, Shami puja, and puja for various vehicles, he also set fire to an effigy belonging to Ravanasura.
