AI technicians told to play a crucial role in milk production in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: Ch Rajeshwara Rao, chairman of Karimnagar Milk Producer Company limited which is also known as Karimnagar Dairy, has called upon the artificial insemination technicians and first-aid workers to play a crucial role in increasing the milk production to meet the growing for milk and milk products in the Telangana state.
Mr Rao was participating in the valedictory function of one-month theory classes conducted for the Artificial insemination technicians also known as Gopal Mitras on the Karimnagar dairy premises in Karimnagar town on Wednesday. The Karimnagar Dairy had selected 24 youth from various parts of the integrated Karimnagar district as artificial insemination technicians and launched four months of institutional training including one month of theory and three months practical in the fields.
Retired Jagtial district veterinary and animal husbandry officer Dr Jayakar had designed the course and conducted the classes with the support of veterinary doctors of the dairy Dr Krishnama Chary, Dr Rahim Akthar, Dr Prem Kumar, Muthyam Reddy and others. The month-long theory classes were conducted by providing free boarding and lodging facilities to the candidates.
Speaking on the occasion, Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao said that the Karimnagar Dairy was on a mission mode to increase milk production in the district as part of its expansion programme of setting up another mega dairy project in Nallagonda village of Thimmapur mandal in the district. Accordingly, they had opened Bulk milk cooling units in various parts of the integrated Karimnagar district and adjoining neighbouring districts, he stated.
“Now, it is the time for the Artificial insemination technicians to take all measures to increase the milk production by taking up artificial insemination at the doorstep of the farmer with the support of Karimnagar dairy officials”, he added. He said that the artificial insemination technicians were well-trained to identify the diseases of milking animals and provide necessary treatment with the support of veterinary doctors.
Stating that the dairy units were helping the farmers to secure alternate and regular sources of income along with farming, he said that they had opened a Bulk milk cooling unit in Errabelli village of Gajwel segment following the instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He also said that the Chief Minister had also instructed the authorities to take the support of Karimnagar dairy in launching the dairy units as part of Telangana dalit bandhu scheme.
Claiming that the Karimnagar dairy had emerged the number one dairy in the state in terms of milk production and procurement, he said that the Karimnagar dairy tops in several welfare schemes for the farmers and the milking animals. Dairy Managing director P Shankar Reddy and course director Dr Jayakar others were also present.
