Agnipath scheme: GDC for women organises an awareness programme to encourage girls to become Agniveers

KARIMNAGAR:  National Cadet Corps wing of the Government Degree College for Women in Karimnagar town organised an awareness programme to educate the students about the importance of Agnipath scheme.

The scheme under which youths of 17.5 to 23 years of age will be recruited in the Army, the Air Force and the Navy on a four-year contract by the Union government.

On Saturday (July 2), Associate NCC officer Lt Kangerla Srilatha apprised the students about the importance of joining the Agnipath and serves the nation as a proud citizen of the country and become Agniveers. She explained the eligibility criteria, financial assistance and post-retirement opportunities etc. She said that joining the Armed forces would be a prestigious service to the country and it would transform them mentally and physically strong to lead a disciplined life with patriotism.

College principal T Sreelakshmi said that the Agnipath scheme was the best scheme for the youth to transform their lives during the vibrant teenage group. She said that the joining of the Armed forces would help the youth on all fronts as they undergo training in all aspects of leading a disciplined life with integrity.
