ACP warns persons indulging in harassment of people demanding mamools during functions and funerals

KARIMNAGAR: In the wake of complaints about some nomadic tribes and other specially-abled persons harassing the people demanding ‘mamools’ during the functions, funerals and house warming ceremonies, Karimnagar Town ACP Tula Srinivas Rao has warned them to mend their ways or face serious legal consequences.

In a press note here today, the ACP said that there were several complaints about these people arriving in front of the houses where the people erect tents for conducting marriage functions, house warming ceremonies, other rituals and also funerals and harass the people demanding ‘mamools’ in thousands of rupees. It is really concerning to note that these people do not even leave the people, who are mourning after the death of their dear ones by sitting on the pyre and harassing them demanding ‘mamool’s, he stated.
Informing them to mend their ways and eke out a living by taking up other professions, he called upon the people to dial 100 if anyone harasses them demanding ‘mamools’ during the functions and death ceremonies. He assured that the Blue colts and the Petrocar police officials patrolling would be at the spot within five minutes after receiving the call.
