Abdul Kalam award presented to Chinthoju Bhaskar of Sircilla textile town

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: Chinthoju Bhaskar and his daughter in law Dr Chinthoju Akanksha received the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam award for their dedicated social service in the field of medical and health sector in Rajanna-Sircilla district at a function organised in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The awards were presented by ACT NOW, a voluntary organisation. Chinthoju Bhaskar runs an NGO called Sircilla Manair in the textile town of Sircilla. He had been crusading for health education in the district in general and powerloom weavers in particular by organising medical camps in coordination with the local doctors. He had also won accolades for organising several hundreds of blood donation camps.
The awards were presented to the couple by IMA national president Dr JA Jayalal. IMA leaders Sudhar, Manjula, Padma, Krishnamurthy, IMA Sircilla doctor Penchalaiah, Sakhi centre administrator Roja and others were also present.
