KARIMNAGAR: With the Union Government informing the people of the country to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as a mass movement by using the tricolour in social media and hoisting the national flag on top of the houses as part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, a traffic constable in Karimnagar is discharging his duties of regulating the traffic by carrying a national flag.

Traffic Constable P Satyanarayana (PC 2441), who has won accolades and won over the hearts of road users by managing the traffic in a unique style (by dancing and special gyrations) in Karimnagar town, has started carrying a national flag in his hand and regulating the traffic by often saluting the national flag and also waving to the crowd.
A 52-year-old Satyanarayana belonging to the 1993 batch Armed Reserve constable is an athlete and worked as a gunman for several Superintendents of Police in the erstwhile Karimnagar district, and also in the ACB as constable and later converted from AR to Civil police and worked in Godavarikhani before being posted to Karimnagar traffic. He is in the Traffic department from 2011 onwards.
Mr Satyanarayana said that he had decided to carry the national flag and discharge his duties as part of the campaign of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and promote patriotism among the road-users of the town. He said that he would carry the national flag till the Independence Day celebrations. If required, he would carry a huge national flag during the Independence Day celebrations and show his patriotism to the country.
He is also appealing to the people on the roads to hoist the national on their houses as part of the 75 years of Indian independence.
