KARIMNAGAR:  There is a sudden spurt in the Covid positive cases in Karimnagar district with 39 medical students testing positive from Chalmeda Ananda Rao institute of medical sciences (CAIMS) on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Sunday.

Reliable sources said that the medicos who had participated in various cultural and sports events recently as part of the college annual day celebrations developed symptoms of the Covid-19. After the conduct of the tests, 39 students were positive. Following the students testing positive, the college management had sent all the students to their homes for isolation and declared holidays for the college.

After a lull in the cases since last few months, the sudden spurt in the positive cases had become a cause of concern for the people of the district and authorities concerned.
