KARIMNAGAR: In the wake of the arrival of farm produce of the khariff to various marketyards, the district administration has decided to open a total of 351 procurement centres to procure paddy from the farmers by providing minimum support price in the district.
In a statement here today, Additional Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal said that a record number of 231 procurement centres would be opened by the Primary agriculture cooperative societies (PACS), 62 by IKP, 50 by DCMS and eight centres by the marketing department. The centres would be opened in all the mandals viz Chigurumamidi 20 centres, Choppadandi 24, Illandakunta 20, Ganneruvaram 16, Gangadhara 37, Huzurabad 25 and Jammikunta 23 centres.
Similarly, the procurements centres would be opened in Karimnagar rural mandal 19, Karimnagar urban one centre, Kothapalli 13, Manakondur 27, Ramadugu, Shankarapatnam and Thimmapur mandals 24 each centres, V Saidapur and Veenavanka mandals 27 centres each. Already, they had opened 94 procurement centres in various parts of the district, he stated.
