KARIMNAGAR, MAY 26, 2023: Twenty-four hours water supply will soon be a reality in the Housing board colony water reservoir limits of Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) with the Corporation planning to implement the continuous and pressurized water supply to the households.
Accordingly, a trial run was successfully conducted to test the supply of 24×7 water supply in the Housing board colony on the outskirts of Karimnagar town by fixing modern water meters to 4455 tap connections in the area. Mayor Y Sunil Rao and other officials inspected the trial run of 24×7 water supply scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that they had taken up development of Housing board colony into a modern colony by spending Rs 65 crore under Smart City project by developing the roads, parks, street lights and also drinking water supply. As a pilot project, the 24×7 water supply scheme would be implemented in Housing board colony, Rampur and Bhagathnagar reservoir areas limits covering 5, 6, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 47 municipal divisions having 4455 water tap connections.
Initially, they had installed water meters for 200 connections and tested the trial run to oversee the flow of water and its pressure. Later, the MCK would install the meters in all the households under the jurisdictions of Housing board colony, Rampur and Bhagathnagar reservoir limits to provide 24×7 water, the Mayor stated.
He said that they would soon officially launch 24×7 water supply scheme in Housing board colony by Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar and TS Planning Board vice chairman B Vinod Kumar. He said that the Karimnagar town would emerge as the first town in the Telangana state to supply 24×7 water supply to the people. Already, the MCK was supplying daily water supply in the town, he said that the people need wait for the water supply and they can secure the water round the clock with 24×7 water supply scheme.
