Sircilla doctor wins appreciation for adopting TB patients in Rajanna-Sircilla district
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: Aimed at eliminating tuberculosis (TB) by 2025 from society, TB patients are being adopted by the health authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan launched in September 2022.
As per the authorities, under the community support programme, a young doctor from Sircilla textile town Dr Chandana Reddy has won accolades for adopting the highest number of patients in the district and providing them with necessary medical assistance and medicines supplied by the government.
During the last year period, she adopted 50 patients at her Chandana Chest Clinic in Sircilla town and treated all the patients with TB by providing medicines. On the occasion of World TB day on March 24, she decided to provide nutritional diet kits to the patients.
She also appreciations launching awareness campaigns in the weavers-dominated colonies in Sircilla town to eradicate TB. She had been educating people on early diagnosis and treatment of active TB patients with six-month medication.
