KARIMNAGAR: Weekly growth monitoring programme for the children below six years of age at the Anganwadi centres was organised at Cherlabuthukur on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Tuesday (January 24, 2023).
On this occasion, the ICDS authorities conducted the checking of the height and weight of the children in the age group of 0 to 6 years to obtain their status as normal, underweight, severe acute malnourished, moderate acute malnourishment and stunted etc. They also displayed various foods to be consumed by pregnant women and lactating mothers and also children for getting the required nutritional support.
The speakers also explained the importance of campaigning against anaemia among adolescent girls and women by conducting regular tests and taking medicines and nutritional food. Stating that first 1,000 days were crucial for the growth of the children, CDPO Uma Rani educated the pregnant woman to approach only the government hospitals for normal deliveries.
