Karimnagar DCCB and NABARD empowers women in making eco-friendly jute bags
KDCCB CEO informs womenfolk to avail institutional credit to take up economic activities and turn as entrepreneurs
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 10, 2023: In order to empower women Self-Help Group members to take up self-employment opportunities by making jute bags and save environment from pollution, the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABRAD) in coordination with District Rural Development Office (DRDO) had imparted 15-days training to 42 women in jute bag making at Swashakhi college in Karimnagar.
The Karimnagar DCCB and NABARD had financed the programme for the empowerment of the rural womenfolk. A total of 42 women SHG members from rural areas selected by DRDO were imparted training by experts at Swashakhi College in Karimnagar town for a period of 15 days. Following the completion of the training programme and the womenfolk emerged experts in making eco-friendly jute bags, the certificates distribution programme was organised at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.
DRDO Srilatha, DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao, NABARD AGM Jayaprakash, DCCB PACS development centre resource person G Satyanarayana and others were also present. Speaking on the occasion, DRDO Srilatha thanked the Karimnagar DCCB and NABARD for taking up the special training programme for the women empowerment by imparting training in jute bag making, which has become a popular choice against platic.
DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao appreciated the womenfolk for utilizing the 15-days training and producing the eco-friendly jute bags, pouches, folders etc. The Jute bags are trendy and fulfills utility needs and is eco-friendly, he said and called upon the womenfolk to emerge as entrepreneurs by availing loans from the DCCB by setting up the units and market their eco-friendly bags. He informed them to capture the growing demand for the jute bags by setting up manufacturing units and emerge as entrepreneurs. He promised all assistance from the bank for their economic empowerment.
DCCB PACS Development Centre Resource centre Satyanarayana educated the importance of banking with century old DCCB for their economic activities. He said that the Karimnagar DCCB best bank to bank with for entire family and their economic empowerment.
