Women’s college students empowered on recycling paper at Gandhi hand paper industries

KARIMNAGAR: Students of the Government degree college for women in Karimnagar town had a field visit to the Gandhi Hand paper industries in Durshed on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Saturday to empower them about the importance of self-employment opportunities.

On this occasion, Gandhi hand paper industries organiser Joginapalli Raghunandhan Rao explained how the waste paper was recycled and produced a new paper for various uses again. Stating that they were checking the pollution and piling up of garbage by recycling the waste paper and other materials, he empowered the students about the production of paper without cutting trees and checking environmental pollution.

Explaining the ill-effects of plastic bags, he had shown the production of paper bag units for the students.  The students were shown various products made by recycled waste paper including, wedding cards, office files, carry bags etc. The students thanked the management for empowering them to take up the self-employment unit by setting up a recycling unit to reproduce paper and other products.

College faculty members Sunitha, Jythirmayi, G Sridhar Rao, D Sujatha accompanied the students’ team.
